Mohatu's Pride pg.4: The Truth

Early one morning, while all the lionesses and cubs were out of the cave starting the day, Mohatu decided it was time to confront Mia about her behavior.

"Mia." He called to her from the entrance of the cave, in a very serious and stern voice. Sitting at the back end of the cave, he turned her head back to give him a glare. She sluggishly picked herself up, and walked over to him. "Yes Mohatu? What is it?" She asked, very uninterested.

"We need to talk about this horrible behavior you have and how you treat our Uru." He growled. "It is unacceptable to lack your responsibilities as queen to neglect your own daughter-"

Mia suddenly interrupted him. "Don't EVER call her my 'daughter' AGAIN!" She roared. "That THING isn't my cub and never will be! Our son is the true heir, NOT HER! Because of her our son and daughters are DEAD! She is a curse upon us all and deserves nothing but death!!

Mohatu had never seen Mia so angry. He knew all the things the lionesses have said about her were true, she was a horrible lioness. "That is NOT true Mia!" he roared back at her. "She has nothing to do with the death of our other children! You're head is filled with cub stories and myths! I know now you are nothing but a foolish and cruel lioness and you are not suitable to be queen!"

Mia growled and smirked. "But as long as your Uru is still your heir, I am queen. I'll see a baboon the queen before I see that evil witch rule over MY lands!" Mohatu and Mia were now viciously growling and baring teeth at each other.

Mohatu growled back. "You're the only witch around here Mia, and if you ever even TRY to harm Uru or any other member of the pride, I'll see to it you get whats coming to you! And if you don't think I won't, just try me." Mohatu sighed angrily. "This discussion is over. You aren't to ever see Uru again. It would be best if you just stayed out of my sight Mia..." he said sadly but very seriously.

Mia growled loudly and sobbed. "I HATE you Mohatu! Don't ever speak to me again!" She turned and ran back to the spot she was in before and laid down, crying silently.

Mohatu sighed and exited the cave. Outside he though to himself. 'Where did I go wrong? I thought I loved her but.... she's changed.' He sighed sadly. 'I'm sorry this happened Mia...' He walked down from Priderock to meet up with the only source of happiness he had left, his little Uru.
